Humans Are Way Scarier Than AI Ever Will Be

Hey, it’s ZMM, back with another Zelegy thought dump. People love to freak out about AI taking over the world. You know, robots going rogue, stealing jobs, or turning us all into paperclips. But let’s be real for a second. Humans are way scarier than any AI could ever be. We’re the ones who built the tech, and we’re the ones who mess things up. Let’s dig into why the “AI fear” hype is overblown and why we should be more worried about ourselves.
Humans: the real scary stuff.

AI Gets the Blame, But We’re the Problem

Everyone’s scared of AI because of movies. Think Terminators or that creepy computer in 2001: A Space Odyssey. We imagine AI waking up one day, deciding it hates us, and boom, game over. But here’s the thing. AI doesn’t have feelings. It doesn’t get mad or jealous or power-hungry. It just does what we tell it to do. If AI goes wrong, it’s because humans programmed it that way.Take those deepfake videos that spread lies online. Scary, right? But AI didn’t decide to make them. Humans did. We’re the ones using tech to trick people, start fights, or make a quick buck. AI is just the tool. We’re the ones swinging the hammer.

Humans Have a Track Record

Look at history. Humans have been doing awful stuff for centuries, no AI needed. Wars, greed, betrayal, you name it. We’ve wiped out entire species, trashed the planet, and fought over who gets the bigger slice of the pie since forever. AI hasn’t done any of that. We have.I read about this experiment where people thought an AI was being mean to them online. Turns out, it was just humans pretending to be AI. We’re so good at being cruel that we don’t even need tech to scare each other. We’ve been doing it since we figured out how to throw rocks.

AI Can’t Match Our Chaos

Here’s what makes humans scarier. We’re unpredictable. AI follows rules, even if they’re complicated ones. But humans? We act on emotions, impulses, and weird ideas that don’t make sense. One day we’re helping a stranger, the next we’re starting a riot over something dumb. AI can’t match that level of chaos.Think about it. An AI might mess up your Netflix recommendations, but a human can hold a grudge for years and ruin your life over it. AI might crash a car if its code glitches, but humans drive drunk and cause way more harm. We’re the wild cards, and that’s what makes us terrifying.

So Why Are We Scared of AI?

I think we’re scared of AI because it’s easier than looking in the mirror. It’s simpler to blame a faceless machine than to admit we’re the problem. AI fear lets us point the finger at something else instead of fixing our own mess. But if we want to make the world less scary, we need to start with ourselves, not the tech.Got thoughts on this humans vs AI debate? Drop them below. I’m curious what you think.
